
Crafting an omnichannel retail experience for Svaraa
Svaraa is a premium jewellery brand from the house of Kalamandir Jewellers. With a strong retail presence across India, the brand brings a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern design sensibilities to a growing audience. As Svaraa scaled its operations, it needed a digital infrastructure that could keep up with the evolving expectations of both customers and store teams, while addressing the complexities of fine jewellery retail.




Problem statement
Magento site was outdated, slow, and dependent on manual workflows.Every product upload required individually adding details like metal type, size, weight, and stone quality. Inventory wasn't synced with physical stores, causing frequent stock mismatches, and their ERP, Gati, which held complete product and inventory data, wasn't integrated with e-commerce. The online and offline experience was fragmented, lacking a unified view of purchases, inventory, and offers. Critical needs like product reservations, home trials, and custom promotions were unsupported, making it clear they needed a scalable, connected system tailored for the complexities of jewellery retail.
The Solution
Built on Medusa for flexibility
We rebuilt the entire storefront using Medusa, a headless commerce engine, chosen for its modularity and performance. This allowed us to create a custom experience that matched the business logic of fine jewellery.
Deep Gati ERP integration focused on variant mapping
We integrated Svaraa's ERP, Gati, to seamlessly pull structured product and inventory data, enabling precise variant mapping aligned with internal style guides. Considering the complexity of jewellery variants, including size, metal purity, color, stone type, diamond quality, weight, and more, our solution ensured accurate inventory association, mapped variants to defined styles, and added a draft mode for teams to preview and approve listings before launch.
Real-time inventory sync
All inventory, across offline showrooms and the online store, is now synced in real time, ensuring consistent availability and preventing overselling.
Omnichannel experience built in
devx enabled a seamless omnichannel layer across Svaraa's retail network:
- A single customer view across all channels
- Unified purchase history, accessible online and offline
- Real-time stock visibility across stores and ecommerce
- Customers can reserve online, pick up in store, or start a journey in-store and complete it online
- Promotions and discount rules applied consistently across platforms.
Reserve product system
Jewellery can be reserved (online or at stores) for a defined period, with or without full payment. This supports browsing, gifting, and bridal purchases where customers need time to decide.
Trial cart for online users
A first-of-its-kind feature that lets online customers request jewellery for home trial. Pieces can be returned or purchased after trying, bringing the comfort of in-store experience to the customer's doorstep.
Discounts and schemes engine
We built a flexible discounts and schemes engine supporting flat cart discounts, offers on making charges, material-specific schemes, and location or season-based promotions.
Curated gifting experience
Svaraa also introduced a dedicated Gifts category with smart filters for variants like For Him, For Her, Occasion, and Price Range, helping customers easily find the perfect piece for any moment.
Unified POS in development
devx is also building a fully integrated POS system for Svaraa. This will unify in-store and online operations, sync directly with Gati, and bring all sales, customer, and inventory data under one ecosystem.
